One of the most iconic directors of Indian Cinema late Raj Kapoor’s wife Krishna Raj Kapoor passed away 2 days ago at the age of 87.
Industry folks in large numbers paid tribute to the first lady of Indian Cinema. From Amitabh Bachchan to Salman Khan, from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Rani Mukherjee paid tribute to the late legendary queen who was the pillar of strength for the showman Raj Kapoor.
However, it was Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor who were inconspicuous by their absence at her funeral. The three were in fact in the USA where Rishi Kapoor will be undergoing medical treatment and hence couldn’t attend the funeral.
Just few days ago, Rishi Kapoor had tweeted, “Hello all! I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It’s been 45 years “plus”of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes,I will be back soon!”
Unfortunately, Neetu Kapoor and son Ranbir Kapoor failed to make it back to Mumbai for the last rites of Krishna Raj Kapoor. Neetu had shared a great bond with her late mother-in-law.
We hope Rishi Kapoor gets well soon and arrives safely in Mumbai to pay homage to his late mother who has been fondly remembered by one and all for her humble nature and for being a hands-on host for the numerous parties that her late husband would host at their residence during his heydays.
