In the ongoing allegations of sexual harassment by actress Tanushree Dutta against one of the veterans of Indian Cinema, Nana Patekar, CINTAA (Cine and TV Artist Association) has finally come out in the open in regards to the allegations against Nana Patekar.

It has stated that the decision the association had taken with respect to the actress’s complaint was highly regrettable but unfortunately the case can’t be reopened since the CINTAA constitution doesn’t permit to take up such cases which are more than 3 years old. They however accepted that the chief grievance of sexual harassment charges levied by Tanushree Dutta wasn’t even addressed by the then committee of CINTAA.

In a statement, CINTAA condemned any sort of sexual harassment in the industry and urged the victims of such an act to report such incidents at the earliest so that they can legally follow up the case.

In a male dominated industry, Tanushree Dutta – Nana Patekar incident has divided the industry. Actresses like Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor, Twinkle Khanna, Swara Bhaskar, Renuka Shahane and others has openly supported Tanushree while few actors like Farhan Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Varun Dhavan has voiced their support for her and lauded her for speaking out.

The sexual harassment incident happened in 2008 during the song shooting of the film Horn OK Please which featured Tanushree Dutta alone but then Nana Patekar too became a part of the song without her being aware of it. It was while shooting that the incident took place and Tanushree Dutta had walk off the set and out of the song for good .

Clearly, the allegation charges now seems so real with CINTAA’s statement and a series of tweets related to the incident by a leading journalist who was present on the set that day.
