Karan Johar will be back to directing after a hiatus post- Ae Dil hai Mushkil. But this time, there is no Ranbir Kapoor in it. The magnum opus titled Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will feature Alia Bhatt alongside Ranveer Singh. The film will also bring back veteran actors Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan after years. Shabana Azmi, too will be a part of the movie. While Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi shall play Alia’s grandparents, Jaya Bachchan will don the role of Ranveer’s grandmother. Jaya has already worked with Karan before in Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kal Ho Na Ho. As per a source, Karan is looking forward to directing two of the most powerful actresses in Hindi cinema, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi, for the first time, and they have some highly intense scenes together. It will be Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi’s second film together, after the 1988 flick, Mardon Wali Baat.
