Veteran actor Dilip Kumar whom we lost today, was admitted to Hinduja Hospital twice over the past few weeks. He had breathing complications, and despite the best efforts of the medical staff, he breathed his last at 7.30 am today. The news of his passing away was announced by his close friend and spokesperson Faisal Farooqui on his Twitter handle which read, with a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of Dilip Saab. It has been confirmed that the actor’s funeral will take place today at 5 pm at Juhu Qabrastan. Dilip Kumar lost his two brothers to COVID-19 over the course of two weeks last year. However, he wasn’t informed about their demise due to his health concerns. The legendary actor & thespian is survived by his wife, Saira Banu. Known as the tragedy king in Indian cinema, he gave some stellar performances over five decades. He acted in over 65 films in his career, of which Jugnu, Andaaz, Devdas, Naya Daur, Mughal-e-Azam, Ram Aur Shyam, and many others speak volumes about his acting prowess.
