Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus’

Inspired by the cult comedy Angoor and set in the ‘60s, Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh have again collaborated in Cirkus. The movie went on the floors in November last year, and the makers are eyeing this year December 31 as the date of the release. The film has Johnny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandes, Pooja Hegde, and Varun Sharma in key roles. Although there is no confirmation on the planned release date yet, the digital rights of the movie have been acquired by the OTT giant Netflix, while the satellite rights are taken by the ZEE Network. Reliance Entertainment has already got the theatre rights of the movie. Set up in the ‘60s, Ranveer Singh will be seen in a double role as the story is about a pair of identical twins who separated at birth. As in yesteryear’s classic Angoor, the lead protagonist Sanjeev Kumar had Deven Verma play the role of his friend, in Cirkus, this role shall be donned by Varun Sharma. All four of them will eventually cross paths that will lead to a lot of comedy, chaos, and confusion taking place. The movie is produced by Rohit Shetty Picturez, Reliance Entertainment, and T-Series.
