SS Rajamouli’s much talked and awaited project RRR has repeatedly been postponed to the point that it has now irked Jayanti Lal Gada, who owns North India as well as all digital and satellite rights of the film. With repeated postponements of the release date, no wonder the producer is getting impatient and therefore wants Rajamouli to agree and go ahead with a digital release. As per a reliable source, the pandemic situation is far from over, with theatre attendance not showing any signs of an increase. Even the likes of Akshay Kumar could not get people to the movie halls with his recently released Bell Bottom. Considering all this, Rajamouli’s adamant stand of releasing the movie only in the theatres is sounding unreasonable to Gada, who has high stakes in RRR. SS Rajamouli isn’t showing any change in his stance as of now, and Gada too, within his rights, is insistent on asking for an exclusive OTT release as in today’s scenario, even the biggest production houses and actors are taking a digital route for their respective projects.
