Jacqueline Fernandez has been under Enforcement Directorate’s scanner in a 200 crore money laundering case helmed by conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. In the charge sheet, the ED has mentioned that the actress received gifts worth Rs. 10 crores from the prime accused,  Chandrasekhar.

The expensive gifts included a horse worth Rs. 52 lacs and a Persian Cat priced at Rs 9 lacs. Jacqueline has maintained since the very beginning that she is a part of the investigation as a witness and nothing more. However, reports and the viral pictures that have been uploaded online suggest that the actress was much more than a mere acquaintance of accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar.

Besides Jacqueline, Sukesh had also gifted a BMW car and an iPhone to Nora Fatehi, both amounting to almost a crore. It was in January this year that Jacqueline and Chandrasekhar started talking to each other and the latter kept sending her expensive gifts. The charge sheet filed by NCB suggests that the gifts given to Jacqueline ranged from a horse to cats and crockery, as well as jewelry. Reportedly, Jacqueline was also talking over the phone to Sukesh while he was serving his prison time in Tihar Jail.

Once he was out on bail, he flew the actress to Chennai in a chartered plane, and both stayed in a hotel in the city. Chargesheet states that Sukesh has spent almost Rs. 8 crores on air travel after he got the bail. If the reports are to be believed, the conman also sent huge amounts to Jacqueline’s relatives. As reported earlier, the charge sheet has been filed against another 13 people apart from Sukesh Chandrasekhar for duping the wife of the Ranbaxy promoter.

The officials have every reason to believe that he extorted a whopping 200 crore from the complainant in the name of facilitating her husband’s release.
