By the end of the last week, news of Akshay Kumar’s Gorkha was all over the digital space as he announced his yet another project with his Atrangi Re and Rakshabandhan filmmaker, Aanand L Rai. A couple of film posters were released over social media where Akshay posed as a fierce Gorkha regiment officer. The film is a Major General Ian Cardozo biopic, a war hero from the Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army- 5th Gorkha Rifles.

It will be directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, who has recently won the National Film Award for Best Direction. The release of the poster saw an ex-Army officer pointing out a mistake in it. As the two posters were released last Friday, Akshay was seen holding a Khukri which is an identity of the Gorkha regiment in both.

However, a retired army officer, Manik M Jolly, pointed out that the curved knife or the Khukri, as it is mostly called, is different from what is shown in the poster. He began by expressing his gratitude to Akshay Kumar for making this movie but asked him to get the details right. He said that the sharp edge of the Khukri is on the other side as it strikes from inside. It is not a sword. He also attached a pic of the actual Khukri alongside his comment. Akshay was quick enough to respond to this post and thanked Major Jolly for pointing out the mistake. He said that they will take utmost care while filming the movie and that any suggestions to getting it closest to reality will be highly appreciated.
