The timing isn’t right is Aamir’s viewpoint as far as Mahabharata is concerned. The magnum-opus was initially proposed as a movie but later went on to be sketched as a web series. However, the project is shelved for now. As per the reports, Aamir was worried about the series going the controversial way and more importantly the project wasn’t looking commercially viable considering the scale of it. Besides, the actor would have ended up dedicating 5 years to the project making it a pretty brave decision to go with. Although Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir’s next release has finalized the December slot, yet the actor needs to quickly announce a star-studded film that has a reliable director at the helm. Going ahead with Mahabharata would have meant giving the big screen a miss for a considerable amount of time, which did not sound like a workable option for the superstar.
