Salman Khan has been denied interim ad relief by one of the Mumbai courts. The actor had filed a defamation case against a person called Ketan Kakkad, who is the owner of a plot on a hill which is right next to Salman Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel. According to the actor, Kakkad had defamed him during an interview given to a YouTuber.
Another two people who were a part of the show were also made party in the suit, and so were Google, Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook. Salman naturally wanted the videos to be removed from their platforms. As part of his plea, Salman wanted an injunction and a temporary order so that no malicious content would be uploaded directly or indirectly in this regard.
The case came up in a city civil court yesterday where advocates from DSK Legal, who represented Khan, pressed for an injunction grant. However, Kakkad’s lawyers opposed it since they had received the papers the evening before and could not get time to study the suit. The judge has hence given time to Kakkad’s lawyers to file a reply on his behalf, and the next date of hearing has been confirmed as January 21.
