For a man who has stayed away from controversies in recent times and given the Indian as well as the world wide audiences some of the most memorable and socially relevant films in the last few years, Akshay Kumar now finds himself amidst one – of having met the controversial so called godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the so called guru was recently arrested and jailed for 20 years on charges of rape and intimidation among other crimes at his ashram. He had earlier produced, directed, acted, written etc. etc. a comedy film series, Messenger of God.
So it came as a major surprise to Akshay Kumar and his legions of fans when rumours started doing the rounds of social media that the actor had met the controversial Gurmeet while he was still a free man.
Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to issue a statement denying it completely. He completely denied having ever met the man in his life. He further added that he had learnt from social media about the controversial godman staying in his vicinity in Juhu for sometime but said their paths never crossed.
Hope his statement silences his critics.
