Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit who made her acting debut in a Marathi film last year with Bucket List will have her debut production 15th August premiere on netflix, the digital platform sometime next year.
Produced under her banner RnM banner, the film written by Yogesh Vinayak Joshi has been directed by Swapneel Jayakar and stars Mrunmayee Deshpande and Adinath Kotharee in the main lead.
The film is a satirical story of a life in the chawls of Mumbai and the struggles of the middle class people in their everyday lives.
Madhuri Dixit is the latest to fallback on the digital platform along with stars like Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddique, Radhika Apte among others.
Priyanka Chopra who ventured into Marathi cinema with the award winning Ventilator will also produce a Marathi film for the digital platform.
Anushka Sharma is the other Bollywood leading actress who has produced Bulbul, a period drama revolving around myths and superstitions and set in a small village where mysterious deaths occur and stories of a witch float around.
After films for theatres, it is the time of the digital age, a medium that has completely erased from the audiences mind when a small niche set of films were made specially for television.
