Amitabh Bachchan & Sooraj Barjatya are all set to collaborate for the first time in the film titled Oonchai. The film will also have Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, and Neena Gupta in prominent roles and will go on floors in October. Oonchai will be about the life story of friendship and will begin its shoot in Nepal. A source close to the project has confirmed that Barjatya has been on the lookout for a safe location in Nepal since the cast comprises senior citizens. The director did multiple recces in India and abroad and finally zeroed in on Nepal. The team will be based in Nepal for 40-45 days and have all the bio bubble protocols in place. Post the completion of the schedule in the Himalayan kingdom, there will also be some part of the shoot in Delhi and Mumbai. This story is said to be close to Sooraj’s heart and is expected to wrap up by January 2022. Amitabh, as being told, gave his nod for the project in the first meeting itself. Oonchai will be a theatrical release that is expected to hit the screens in the second half of 2022. Post the completion of Oonchai, Sooraj Barjatya will collaborate with Salman Khan for a marriage drama, which will go on floors in 2023.
