Miss Universe, held in Israel, has a lot to cheer about for Indians. India’s Harnaaz Sandhu has been officially crowned Miss Universe for 2021.
She is the third from India to be crowned with the coveted title after Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta. Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira and South Africa’s Lalela Mswane were announced as first and second runners-up respectively, at the 70th edition of this prestigious annual event.
Harnaaz hails from Punjab and has been become the third Indian to be crowned Miss Universe after 21 years since Lara Dutta last won it. Priyanka Chopra, an ex-Miss World herself, as well as Lara Dutta, congratulated Harnaaz Sandhu on their social media. As per reports, Harnaaz has already ventured into the Punjabi film industry where a couple of films are lined up.
