Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, Bell Bottom was the first film that got a worldwide theatrical release on August 19, after the second wave of the pandemic. However, it had to stick with only a few cinema halls in India as some states have still not allowed theatres to reopen. The makers have now decided not to delay things further and release the film on OTT as well. Akshay Kumar, who is currently shooting in the UK for Cinderella, which is yet another Ranjit M Tewari film, took to his social media yesterday to announce the film’s release on Amazon Prime Video on September 16. Akshay, in a statement, said that after getting the theatres going, it is now time to take the story to more people, and it could not have been a better way than releasing it on Amazon Prime Video, thereby reaching more than 240 countries. The Director and Content Head for Amazon Prime Video, India, Vijay Subramaniam, said that their audiences enjoy a fair share of action and thriller movies, and the OTT platform is glad to bring this story to them.
