AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts) has announced the 9 nominees for this year’s ACCTA Award for Best Asian Film and 3 Indian films feature in the list – Sanju, Newton and Gali Guleiyan.
The winner of the Best Asian Film Award will be determined by the 2018 Best Asian Film Grand Jury, led by the renowned multiple awards winning Australian actor Russell Crowe, who returns as President of the jury which also comprises of Indian actors Anupam Kher and Shabana Azmi.
While Sanju made its mark in India commercially and critically, all three films Newton, Gali Guleiyan and Sanju were critically acclaimed in India and globally and each have won a handful of awards globally.
The winner of the Award will be announced in Sydney at the 2018 AACTA Awards Ceremony presented by Foxtel on Wednesday 5 December 2018.
