Dakota Johnson, who rose to fame because of Fifty Shades of Grey, has been signed for Netflix’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel, Persuasion. The movie is all set to go on floors from May this year. Persuasion will be about the life of a 27-year-old unmarried girl, Anne Elliot, whose snob family is on the brink of bankruptcy. Elliot reconnects with a man, she was at one time persuaded to reject. Persuasion was Jane Austen’s last novel that got published six months after her death in 1817. Dakota Johnson was recently seen in Our Friend and will also be starring in The Lost Daughter and Am I Ok? Persuasion will be produced by Andrew Lazar and Christina Weiss Lurie and directed by theatre director Carrie Cracknell.
