Deepika Padukone has stepped down from her position as Chairperson of Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image due to an overload of professional commitments. The 35-year-old actress in a post on her Instagram stories shared that being on board of MAMI and serving as its Chairperson has been a deep and enriching experience and that as an artist, it was invigorating for her to bring together talent and cinema from all over the work to Mumbai. She added that due to her current slate of work, she will not be able to give her undivided focus and attention to MAMI, which it deserves and hence will step down from her current position. Deepika further said that she knows MAMI is in the best hands, and her bond with the academy will last a lifetime. Deepika Padukone has an extremely crowded schedule, as she is working on Yashraj’s Pathan as well as Shakun Batra’s untitled project. She is soon to begin her film with Prabhaas and also Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan. Besides this, she has recently made an announcement on the Hollywood remake of The Intern by the same name, which stars Amitabh Bachchan in the lead.
