Alia Bhatt on Sunday announced the wrap of Gangubai Kathiawadi, her first collaboration with the ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film had to go through several blockades and finally managed to pull it through on Saturday at Mumbai’s Goregaon Film City. Sharing a behind-the-scenes picture from the sets of the movie, the actress penned an emotional note that narrated the tough journey the movie had to go through. She wrote that they started shooting for Gangubai Kathiawadi on December 08, 2019, and wrapped it after almost two years. The film had to go through two lockdowns, two cyclones, and both the director and actor contracting COVID during its making. She added that the trouble the movie had to go through is a movie all together. But through all that happened during the course of the movie’s production, what she takes away is a gigantic life-changing experience. She also thanked Sanjay Leela Bhansali saying, that it was her dream working with him all her life and that she walks out of the set a different person today. Alia concluded her note by saying that there is truly no one like the Ace Director.  She said that when the film ends a part of you ends too, and today she has lost a part of herself. Alia also thanked the crew, family, and friends without whom this wouldn’t have been possible. Now that the shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi is completed, the same set will be used for Heera Mandi, which will be produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and helmed by Vibhu Puri.
