Raam Laxman, who gave us iconic songs from movies like Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Hum Saath Saath Hain, and many others, has passed away in the early hours today due to cardiac arrest at his residence in Nagpur. Confirming the news, his son Amar said that his father passed away at 2:00 am on Saturday due to a heart attack. He added that the music composer got the second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine only a few days ago, following which he was feeling fatigued, and weak and a doctor was treating him for the same.
Born as Vijay Patil, he was Laxman from the Ram Laxman duo. His partner Surendra, Ram of the duo, passed away way back in 1976, soon after they had signed Agent Vinod. To honor his memory, Vijay continued to use his partner’s name in all his creations. Condolences have been pouring in for the music composer since the time the news started to float around. Rajshri Productions mourned the demise of Raam Laxman and said that they shall remember his contribution to the music industry. Bharat Ratna and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar through her Twitter handle called the music composer a very talented and a great man and paid him her respects.
