Bollywood veteran Shabana Azmi will soon be seen in a project by R. Balki. The project we are referring to here is Ghoomar, which is a film about cricket. Shabana will be seen playing the role of a woman who loves cricket. This underproduction project will also star Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher, with the former essaying the role of a coach while the latter will play the role of a budding cricketer. Abhishek has already featured in Paa, a R. Balki film, which also had his father, Amitabh Bachchan. On the other hand, it will be Shabana’s first film with the director. She will be seen as Saiyami’s grandmother, who happens to be a cricket afficionado. She is the one who encourages her to pursue her dreams of making it big in the sport, much to the disapproval of others who are close to her. Saiyami has already worked with Bachchan Junior in Breathe: Into The Shadows, an OTT series that was well received by the audience. The shoot for the film has already kicked-off.
