The much-hyped and awaited Akshay Kumar movie Sooryavanshi which was supposedly going to be released only on single screens and non-national multiplexes is seeing another twist. As per the sources, the movie was not going to follow the regular pattern of getting released in multiplex chains such as PVR, Inox, etc and was just going the single screen & non-national multiplex way. However, the reports that are coming in now point out towards the discussion between producers and exhibitors reaching an impasse. With this happening, there are high possibilities of an OTT release of the film. Sources confirm that the makers have already initiated a dialogue with Netflix. If a deal is worked out, then we can expect a simultaneous release of the movie on Netflix, single screens and non-national multiplex properties. Another scenario is if Netflix offers a sweet deal, we might as well see the movie premiering exclusively with the OTT giant.
