One of the keenly awaited Bollywood films in recent times is Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi. Second in the successful Happy Bhaag Jayegi series, the films stars Sonakshi Sinha in the main lead as Happy and once again we see the character on the run.
Surprisingly Diana Penty who played the lead in the first film does figure in the second installment but doesn’t seem to have much to do in the film as is evident in the trailer (watch here). Even Abhay Deol who played the character of Bilal in the first part is missing in action in the second part.
In a bid to cash in on a successful franchisee, producers these days are roping in bigger stars to rake in the molaah at the box office as had been the case earlier too with the Jolly LLB series. Akshay Kumar had taken over the main character’s role in the second installment from Arshad Warsi who had done a commendable job in the first film.
As much as the producers having the rights to cash in on a successful series, it is however wrong to leave the actors in the lurch who had created memorable characters in the first films of the franchise. The actors in these cases being Arshad Warsi and Diana Penty who definitely had been sidelined for bigger stars to carry the franchise forward.
