Sujoy Ghosh and the makers of the film Blind are re-thinking their plans to release the movie as the cinema halls have started opening the doors yet again across the country. Blind was supposed to be Sonam Kapoor’s digital debut but the producers are in a catch 22 situation of whether to go ahead with the pre-decided OTT route or showcase the movie in the theatres.

There are filmmakers of Sardar Udham and Rashmi Rocket, who have decided to stick to their original OTT release plan despite the theatres opening. Ghosh, however, has decided to revisit his plan, now that the government has given a green signal to all the multiplex and single-screen owners. As per a recent interaction with a print tabloid, the director has said that they shall decide on a further course of action next month.

He added that at the end of the day, all the filmmakers, big or small, make films for the big screen, but one does not always get what they want. There are many movies lined up, and there is an issue with regards to accommodating each movie. Besides, according to him, no one has time and money to watch four films in a week. He adds that since many have been unemployed in the past year, watching movies at the theatres can indeed be an expensive affair.

Story of Blind is about a visually impaired police cadet which is played by Sonam Kapoor. The movie was wrapped up in a start to finish schedule at Glasgow, Scotland, stretching through December 2020 to February 2021.
