The Variety magazine has given Siddharth Roy Kapur a reason to cheer for the fifth consecutive time. The producer has featured on the coveted magazine’s annual list of 500 most influential figures in the global media and entertainment space.
The honor is a proud moment for the Indian film fraternity as the forum recognized Kapur’s contribution when it comes to creating new content under his production banner Roy Kapur Films. The magazine also applauded Kapur’s contribution in building a robust support system for the industry in his role as the Producers Guild of India’s President.
As far as his production work is concerned, Aranyak, a crime thriller, which is his recent web series, is seeing success and has broken into the top 10 global non-English shows on Netflix in the first week of its launch. His soon-to-be-delivered projects include Pippa, a film on the 1971 Bangladesh war of Independence, and Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? starring Pratik Gandhi and Taapsee Pannu. Siddharth is also working to bring an adaptation of The Anarchy, a William Dalrymple’s bestseller.
