The reunion is titled Chale Chalo Lagaan- Once Upon An Impossible Dream and will stream on the OTT giant’s YouTube channel.

Lagaan is one of the three Indian films of all time that went on to get nominated for the Best Foreign Language category at the 74th Academy Awards in 2002. Talking about the memorable journey of Lagaan, Aamir said that they broke their backs while making the film, but their hearts were full of joy. The movie has showered them all with so much love. Aamir added that he is so grateful to his fellow travelers on this magical journey. He goes on to express his gratitude towards Ashutosh and his team of writers, the cast and crew, partners and distributors, and also the audience. He added that he is so very looking forward to reconnecting with the Lagaan gang and thanked Netflix for this initiative. Celebrating this journey, Ashutosh Gowariker, who directed this landmark movie, said that his ultimate dream was to create something which will linger on in the audience’s mind. According to him, Lagaan is appreciated even 20 years down the line, and this is something unimaginable. He said that the movie is about people coming together and standing united against all the odds and that through this special with Netflix, they are here to celebrate what they truly believed-in. As per Monika Shergill, VP, Content at Netflix, Lagaan is one of the most iconic creations of Indian cinema. The movie, according to her, showed the brilliance of Indian storytelling on the global stage and that it’s an honor for the OTT giant to celebrate its 20 years with the team behind this film.
