Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will return to the big screen with Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. The actress was last seen in the 2018 flick, Fanney Khan. Aishwarya, who is on and off her social media handle, took to her Instagram to share the poster of the movie and revealed that its first installment would release in 2022. As of now, the film will be showcased in two parts. Along with the post, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also posted a caption which read that the golden era comes to life with Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan PS1. As per the latest reports, the film’s shooting resumed in Puducherry last week, and a major part has already been shot in Thailand & Hyderabad. The ace director and the actress have already worked together before in hits like Guru, Raavan, and Iruvar. Aishwarya had told a leading daily sometime back that working with Mani Ratnam is like going back to school again. Ponniyin Selvan is co-produced by Lyca Productions and Mani Ratnam’s banner, Madras Talkies.
