Moving the release date of a movie further in the current scenario that we are in, is a no-brainer indeed. Prithviraj also has joined the pack of other movies shunning from their scheduled release date due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases across the country. The film was supposed to hit the big screen on January 21.
According to a source, when there is a sure-shot blockbuster in hand, one doesn’t play with its fate. Prithviraj, according to him, is one such movie that will bring back people to the theatres, and it should be released at an ideal time. From a business point of view too, it doesn’t make any sense to compromise on a film which in all possibilities is going to be a blockbuster at the box office. The producers of the movie, Yash Raj, were waiting till the last moment to see if the situation in the country and across the world improves, but it has rather worsened.
Everyone has huge expectations from the film as it comes with a promise of setting new milestones at the box office. The source adds that YRF will hold on to the project as long as it takes and put it out for showcase when the time is apt. Besides Akshay Kumar, the film will mark the debut of Manushi Chhillar. It also has Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt portraying key roles.
