‘Gully Boy gets Berlin Visa’

‘Gully Boy’ directed Zoya Akhtar gets the rare honour. Ranveer Singh tweeted, “Delighted!!! #GullyBoy has been selected by the Berlin International Film Festival for a special gala screening!!! Ow Oww!!!”.

Alia also tweeted, “Wohooo so soo exciting! #GullyBoy has been selected by the Berlin International Film Festival for a special gala screening cannot wait”

This is Alia Bhatt’s second film going to Berlin after “Highway”. Director Mahesh Bhatt also congratulated Alia Bhatt revisiting the memory lane; he tweeted, “Like branches we all grow in different directions. Yet the roots remain as one.

The film is directed by Zoya Akhtar, inspired by the life of street rappers Divine and Naezy in Mumbai.

Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Raaz, Amruta Subhash and Vijay Verma are part of the supporting cast of the film. ‘Gully Boy’ is produced by Excel Entertainment, which is co-owned by Farhan Akhtar. The film is to be release on February 14, 2019.

Gully Boy‘ has been selected along with German film ‘Brecht’ and a documentary titled ‘Watergate’ to be screened as part of Berlinale Special.

The 69th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival will run from February 7 to 17 next year. Berlinale screens recent works by contemporary filmmakers, as well as documentaries and works with extraordinary formats.
