The year 2021 marked exactly 20 years since Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was released and went on to be counted as one of the most prolific films of Indian cinema. Cut-2; 20 years down the line Tara Singh played by Sunny Deol, and Sakeena Ali, played by Ameesha Patel, are reuniting again for Gadar 2.
Ameesha Patel took to her social media to share the pictures of the first look of the film, and undoubtedly, it left everyone who’s seen the 2001 Gadar go nostalgic. Sunny was seen wearing turban and red kurta of Tara Singh, while Ameesha wore an orange Patiala suit with a dupatta covering her head; very Sakeena indeed. The actress, on her wall, wrote about the mahurat shot taking place.
The film went on floors in Himachal Pradesh, and Utkarsh Sharma, who played Sunny and Ameesha’s son in the 2001 film, too expressed his happiness over it. Gadar 2 will focus on Utkarsh’s love story, although the female lead is not known yet. While Jeete’s love angle will be the crux of the film, Tara & Sakeena shall remain the main protagonists. Gadar 2, in all likelihood, will release in 2022.
