In a first for Bollywood and second for Indian Cinema, Akshay Kumar’s latest blockbuster Gold opened to public in the conservative Saudi Arabia.
Lately the conservative Saudi kingdom has been seeing a gradual transformation in its lifestyle as its authorities have been easing curbs on arts and fashion among other things.
Tweeting on the occasion, Akshay said, “The story of India’s first Gold medal victory for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Happy to share, #Gold is the first ever Bollywood movie to release in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia, in cinemas from today! @excelmovies @ZeeStudiosInt”
The previous Indian film to release was Rajnikaanth starrer Kaala.
