Rani Mukherji’s last film Hichki is following the trend of other films flying abroad in a localized avatar.

The film will now release in Russia next month followed by Kazakhstan. The film will have a Russian voiceover.

Rani who plays the character of a feisty Teacher having Tourette Syndrome in the field said in a statement, “It talks about every person’s determination, focus and positive spirit to win over obstacles. I’m happy that its core message is resonating with audiences across the globe. I am proud of the film, and grateful that people are enjoying it.”

Hichki will be screened across 15 screens in Kazakhstan and as per the reports, it is the biggest release for a Hindi feature film in Kazakhstan since 2015.

Back home, Rani’s performance in the film was much appreciated by the critics and audience alike and hopefully that will resonate in Russia and Kazakhstan as well.
