Kangana Ranaut, who has been entangled in a defamation suit filed by Lyricist Javed Akhtar has been granted a last chance by The Metropolitan Magistrate at Andheri to appear before the court. If Kangana fails to appear for the next hearing, she will be issued a bailable arrest warrant. Kangana’s advocate told the court that since she is not in the country, her absence in the court should be excused, to which Javed Akhtar’s lawyer opposed the exemption and sought a bailable warrant as the actress has failed to appear on the previous dates as well. After hearing the arguments from both sides, the Metropolitan Magistrate permitted her exemption but also stated that if Kangana fails to appear before the court on the next hearing, a bailable warrant will be issued against her. Earlier this year too, a bailable warrant was issued against the actress in the same case due to her non-appearance.
