Spider-Man: No Way Home has done the unthinkable in the pandemic era. The Spidey flick has surpassed the $1 billion mark at the global box office. The co-production film of Sony & Disney has now claimed the title of the highest-grossing movie of 2021.

The last Hollywood film to breach the $1 billion mark was Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. Spider-Man reached this astonishing figure on the Christmas weekend. It beat the Chinese film, The Battle of Lake Changjin, which has garnered close to $905 million worldwide. As per a senior media analyst with Comscore, Spider Man’s success presents the power of a great movie to get fans from across the world to enjoy a cinematic experience that only such a movie can provide.

As per a data released, Spider-Man: Homecoming which was released in 2017, became the second-highest Spider-Man flick, by minting $880.4 million at the box office, while the film which led the way to become the first Spidey movie to breach the $1 billion figure was the 2019 release Spider-Man: Far From Home.
