Amazon Prime Video Brings To Its Subscribers 2 Academy Award Nominated Titles

Amazon Prime Video has brought two Academy Award-nominated titles, Minari and Another Round for its viewers. Korean drama film Minari is about a South Korean immigrant family who tries to make it in the rural United States during the 80s. The movie has gone on to receive many awards and accolades on the global stage, including six nominations in this year’s Academy Awards with Best Picture and Best Director a part of it.

Youn Yuh-Jung went on to win the Academy Award for the best-supporting actress for this movie. Minari has already premiered on Amazon Prime Video on May 11, and as expected, is getting a good response. On the other hand, Another Round is a comedy-drama about four high school teachers who consume alcohol every day and how this habit of theirs goes on to affect their social and professional lives. The movie won the Oscar for the Best International Film this year and was also nominated in the Best Director category.

This flick is all set for a premiere on May 20 on the streaming giant. Speaking of both the premieres, Amazon Prime Video’s Director and Head- Content, Vijay Subramaniyam said, that their consistent commitment is to bring local and international content for their subscribers. He added that they are elated to announce the premiere of these two celebrated films and that it is nothing short of a thrill to welcome these titles alongside the likes of Tenet, Parasite, and Sound of Metal which are already doing good on their OTT platform.
