Maharashtra State Government Relief & Rehabilitation minister Vijay Wedittiwar on Thursday announced that the Government has come up with an unlock plan. As per him, the lesser the positivity rate and percentage of oxygen beds, the more would be the relaxations in that particular district. Shortly after this announcement, the Government also made it clear that these proposals are under consideration and haven’t been passed by the Chief Minister yet. But on June 05, the Government officially announced that the unlock plan is indeed on, and the films can begin their shoot from June 07. If we go with the prescribed slab, Mumbai’s positivity rate is around 5.56%, and oxygen bed occupancy is close to 32.50% making it a level 3 city. As per this level, cinema halls will not be allowed to open, however, shootings can resume with certain rules like they should happen in a bubble, and no movement will be allowed after 5 pm. Interestingly, cities falling under the level 1 category where the positivity rate is below 5% and oxygen bed occupancy is less than 25%, will be allowed to resume operations in cinema halls and malls with regular occupancy. As per an industry insider, there are many films like Pathan, Shabaash Mithu, MayDay, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Brahmastra, Adipurush, etc., waiting to begin their shoot. The laid down rules are such that not all the films would be able to commence the work, besides a lot many producers have insisted on vaccinating their units before going on floors. However, this step does come as a relief to everyone associated with the entertainment industry, as they now know that there is some sort of hope just around the corner.
