Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi is one movie that has faced the maximum wrath of the pandemic. It was supposed to complete its production in 2020 and release the same year. That did not happen due to the pandemic affecting a sizeable portion of the year. The film production was almost complete this year, with only three days of shoot left before the second wave started. The filmmaker and producers are left with no choice but to wait for the current deadlock to change. As per a source, there is only a background song filmed on Alia Bhat that needs to be shot.
Like other songs in the movie, Alia Bhatt doesn’t have to lip-sync in this song too. As a matter of fact, the shoot of most of the song was already completed, and Bhansali was on the verge of wrapping it up before the second wave struck and new laws were placed. The source further adds that the lavish set which is built in the Film City is costing the co-producers, Bhansali and Jayanti Lal Gada close to three lacs a day. This works out less uneconomical than demolishing it and constructing a new set altogether once the shoot resumes. To top it all, producers aren’t intending to resume the shoot anytime soon. Even if the lockdown ends, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has decided not to go ahead with the shoot till the time the second wave declines.
