Rani Mukherjee starer Hichki crosses 100 crore in China

A statement from Yashraj Films stated that HICHKI, a film produced by Yashraj and staring Rani Mukherjee in the lead has crossed Rs.100 crore in China since it’s release in the neighbouring country on October 12.

HICHKI is a story of a teacher battling Tourette Syndrome, a nervous-system disorder that causes her to react a certain way every time she gets anxious and her struggle to change the lives of her underprivileged students. The film had garnered critical.reviews in India on its release here.

Rani stated, “Good cinema has no language barriers and it connects with the the audience’s hearts and minds. Hichki’s success in China proves just that.”

“We knew we had made a special film but for it to get so much love and acclaim from audiences across the globe is an extremely proud and humbling moment for all of us,” she added.

China has become an important market for Hindi films with the Chinese audience lapping up Indian films with dollop of affection. Two Indian films – Bahubali and Dangal had earlier set the Chinese Box Office afire.
