Dharma Production’s Dostana 2 is back in the news yet again. After an altercation that took place between lead actor Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar with subsequently the actor moving out, reports now suggest that Akshay Kumar has been approached for the lead role. In one of the interviews recently, Karan Johar has thrown a hint on casting Akshay along with the original star cast of Janhvi Kapoor and Laksh Lalwani. In a statement, on being asked about Akshay’s inclusion in the movie, Karan had said that his lips are sealed as of now and an announcement will be made soon. Furthermore, Karan Johar also dismissed rumors of Janhavi’s and Laksh’s ouster and confirmed that they are still very much a part of the film. Notably, Dostana 2 has been a long wait for Karan as way back in 2009, he had announced the sequel with the original cast of John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan in mind, with new entrant Katrina Kaif. It was Tarun Mansukhani who was supposed to direct it, but Johar then did not like the script and decided to keep it on hold. In all possibilities, if Akshay Kumar comes on board for Dostana 2, it will surely turn out to be a blockbuster in the making.
